Meet Our Founder
Rachel Coleman, CEO & Founder
Rachel Coleman
Rachel Coleman is the founder and owner of the Stars organization, a nationwide travel softball program of more than 100 teams and over 1,500 student-athletes. She is also the CEO and founder of East Coast Softball and the owner of SoftballRecruiting.com, giving Stars families a rare combination of elite coaching, national-level competition, and college recruiting all under one roof.
A Champion on the Field
Rachel’s playing career began in her local community and carried her to a 2008 State Championship as her high school’s pitcher. She went on to compete for a national-level travel program before being recruited to play Division I softball.
Coaching at the Highest Levels
Rachel earned a degree in Sports Management and Coaching Science from the University of Delaware and a master’s in Sports Management from the University of Tennessee. Along the way she built a coaching résumé at the sport’s highest levels: volunteer assistant coach at Kennesaw State under Hall of Fame coach Scott Whitlock; graduate manager at Tennessee under Hall of Famers Ralph and Karen Weekly, helping the Lady Vols advance to the 2015 Women’s College World Series; and assistant and pitching coach at Delaware, where her teams set program records, reached conference tournaments in consecutive seasons, and posted the highest RPA and GPA rankings in school history.
Building Stars
Under Rachel’s leadership, Stars National has won national titles and earned nationally ranked status. Through SoftballRecruiting.com, the female athletes she works with have secured more than $100 million in college scholarships.
Her Philosophy
At the travel-ball level, Rachel emphasizes player development, using state-of-the-art data to build individualized performance plans for each athlete.
Empowering young female athletes to reach their goals at school, in sports, and in life is the true secret to Rachel’s success. As a mentor, entrepreneur, and born leader, she defines winning as success and fulfillment, on and off the field. Her innovative approach to management and her commitment to mentoring coaches and student-athletes is a true inspiration in the world of softball, and fulfills her lifelong dream to pave the way for the next generation of softball players.
